We are looking for TAs for a variety of computer science courses
offered during Winter 2006 at Scarborough (UTSC). The detailed
list is shown in the official advertisement, which is appended.
I would like to point out some features of TA positions at UTSC
that may be of interest to potential graduate student applicants:
1) Because tutorials for a given course are typically scheduled
at different times, it is usually possible for a graduate
student to cover multiple tutorial sections of the same course
(thereby amortizing preparation time) while going to UTSC only
one day each week (thereby amortizing travel time).
2) A typical contract for one tutorial section is for 65 hours
(compared to 54 hours downtown).
3) We reimburse the cost of travel by TTC to the UTSC campus.
4) If you are interested in a TA position at UTSC that involves
only marking (and would therefore not require you to travel
to the Scarborough campus) or that involves only teaching and
contact with students (but no marking), it may be possible to
make such an arrangement. The application form has a section
where you can indicate such preferences.
If you have any questions about this, please send me email.
Applications should be submitted as indicated in the ad. Please
use the UTSC (not St. George) course codes in your application.
