Hi, Anybody know of a good free PDF converter to be used on a Windows
platform? My primary use would be to convert Microsoft Office files (.doc,
.ppt, etc.) to .pdf.

So far, I have encountered problems with "PDFCreator". Any other programs
worth trying?

Thanks,
Ron

Hi

Here are a few free (and tried) programs:
- PrimoPDF - www.primopdf.com
- PDFill - www.pdfill.com (Their free tools include a merge utility,
among others)
- PDF-Convert - www.pdf-convert.com

Enjoy.

You can do it for free by installing an old PostScript printer and using
Ghostscript/GSview.

potentially a PDF file.

yup.

tried openoffice 2.0 beta2, and it converts to pdf almost instantly.
the other pdf printers mentioned here, as well as StarOffice 7.0
(strange..same codebase..) 'took some time' to convert the same file to
pdf.

i have removed the other pdf printers and StarOffice from my
computer......OpenOffice 2.0 (beta2).. is awesome !

Indeed it can. Unfortunately it's slow as molasses to start up. :(
